Self-consciousness in front of a camera was not an issue with Kitty and Kara. Quite the opposite! For them, the idea of being photographed while being sexual, knowing that photographs of them would then appear in Norway’s beautiful and intelligent erotic magazine, only served to heighten their excitement and sense of sexual adventure.
Before they can relax and be fully present being sexual in front of a camera, many of the couples I photograph need to overcome some degree of shyness at the idea of engaging in such intimacy with the purpose of being recorded on film, published in a magazine, and exposed to the world.
